Insurance
We want you to have a clear understanding of our policy concerning payment and insurance. Our office accepts cash, check, Visa, and Mastercard.
If you have NO INSURANCE you will need to pay your charges in full at each visit.
If you do have health insurance:
Please bear in mind that you are ultimately responsible for payment of your charges.

If you intend to use your insurance plan, we can provide verification before the date of your appointment. We will need your date of birth, Insurance Provider, Member ID, and the Provider phone number, along with your email to forward you a verification sheet detailing the terms of your Acupuncture & consultation coverage. Link to our insurance verification request form is here. This will allow us to inform you regarding your coverage before your first treatment.

Most insurance plans will only cover acupuncture for orthopedic pain (back pain, knee pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, headache, etc). Herbal medicine, suggested supplements and lab work can not be run through insurance and are an out-of-pocket cost to the patient. Herbal consultations and/or herbal dermatology work is also not covered by insurance.

We are out of network physicians for all providers except Cigna, where we are currently in-network providers. If you found Dorothy Low as an in-network provider with any other insurance company, this applies only to treatments that occur at Children’s Hospital LA in their integrative pain program. We do not currently work with any HMO plans.

New patients may be required to pay the full price for the first three visits, until it is clear how much an insurance provider will actually compensate for acupuncture services. Reimbursements due to the patient will be refunded by HATH Holistic in the form of a check or a credit toward future treatments, whichever the patient prefers. After the first three visits you will be charged an estimated copay amount for future visits according to how much your insurance is covering, and adjustments will be made if necessary.
We are happy to discuss these terms and clarify any questions you may have during your free phone consultation or first appointment. Pricing will be determined upon first visit as we offer a sliding scale.
